Nine hours of full glam, three setting sprays, waterproof mascara, and it all melted off in seconds. @JackNader put the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm to the ultimate test. Here is his verdict.

Here is a question worth sitting with: when did you last look at your face at the end of the night and genuinely wonder whether your cleanser got everything?

Because according to beauty creator @JackNader, there is a good chance it did not.

Your cleanser is not taking off all your makeup,” he opens, nine hours into a full glam look that was, by his own description, completely waterproof, long-wearing, and layered with three setting sprays.

The makeup was not going anywhere.

And then he reached for the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm, and the glam look was off.

“I mean, literally, just watch everything melt away. Yes, even with my three setting sprays and my waterproof mascara.”

Why Your Regular Cleanser Is Leaving Makeup Behind

Most everyday cleansers; gel cleansers, foam cleansers, micellar water; are water-based.

And here is the issue: the majority of modern makeup, especially anything marketed as long-wearing, waterproof, or transfer-resistant, is oil-based or silicone-based.

Water and oil do not mix. Which means a water-based cleanser is essentially fighting an uphill battle against the very formulas that are designed to stay in place.

You might be removing surface-level grime and the top layer of foundation, but the deeper pigment; the setting spray residue, the mascara that has been on your lashes for nine hours; is clinging on.

Every morning you are starting your routine on a face that is not as clean as you think it is, and that build-up has a way of showing up in your skin over time.

The solution is the double cleanse, a method that has been foundational in Korean skincare routines for decades.

You start with an oil-based cleanser or cleansing balm to dissolve and lift every trace of makeup, sunscreen, and oil-based product. Then you follow with your regular water-based cleanser to clean the skin itself.

The first cleanse takes off what water cannot. The second cleanse does the rest.

It sounds like an extra step but once you have seen what a balm cleanser pulls off your skin, you will never go back to skipping it.

The Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm is a balm-to-oil cleanser that dissolves makeup on contact, and Jack puts that claim to the most demanding test possible.

He removes only half his face with it, side by side, so you can see exactly what the product does against a full nine hours of wear.

The result is a clean, clear, not-irritated half that makes the still-made-up side look significantly put together entirely.

What makes this balm stand apart from a standard makeup remover is the complete lack of eye irritation too.

Notice, no cloudy or irritated eyes here,” he points out, and this matters enormously for anyone who has experienced the burning, stinging experience of removing waterproof mascara with the wrong product.

This Green Clean takes it all without any of that.

How to Use It

The Farmacy Green Clean is a balm-to-oil formula, which means it starts as a solid balm and transforms into a silky oil as it warms against your skin.

You do not need much; a small scoop, about the size of a hazelnut, is enough for the entire face.

Using a spatula or clean, dry hands, gently massage the product onto your skin in circular motions.

For eye makeup removal: apply to closed eyes, paying extra attention to where mascara and eyeliner tend to cling.

The product will start to break down your makeup immediately as it warms.

Emulsify with warm water to transform oil into milk. Ensure you keep water out of the jar.

To remove, rinse with warm water or wipe off with a damp washcloth.

Follow with your regular cleanser as the second step of your double cleanse, and you are done.

No tugging, no stinging, no scrubbing. Just clean skin.

The no-irritation point that Jack highlights is particularly worth noting for anyone who wears heavy eye makeup or contact lenses.
