Have you ever seen a shoe so good it basically becomes a whole personality? That’s the Dolce & Gabbana Spring-Summer 2012 scarf wedges for you.
Kate Emao posted her look in this gorgeous pair from the brand’s early-2010s era, and we have been inspired to recreate a similar look.
P.S: We actually hope Uncle Steve Madden decides to bless us with his version.

The comments made it clear this shoe moment hit different.
Popievintage called the wedges “insanes,” while kenyakavone did a double-take with “WAITT these are 🔥.”
Stefanie.with.a.f took it further: “I would sell my soul for a pair.. idc idc idc.”
Sweetlifeofpapi, who already owns them, admitted she’d “never thought to do that” with the scarf-tucked styling, and even Instagram’s own account weighed in, calling it “finally a practical shoe.”
One fan, imjamiestone, pointed out a real perk: “As someone who’s legs get cold easily indoors this would be amazing.”
Spring/Summer 2012 was a real turning point for Dolce & Gabbana.
It was the season when the brand phased out its younger, streetwear-leaning D&G diffusion line to fully focus on the main womenswear collection and a new high-fashion Alta Moda line.
That shift came with a deep dive into Sicilian heritage, building toward the brand’s now-iconic Sicilian Folk collection the following year, which leaned into florals, majolica pottery motifs, and traditional island imagery.
Key Styles included sculpted corsetry, intricate floral prints, signature lace overlays, and jewel-encrusted finishes.
So the paisley, warm-toned print on those viral wedges fits right into that moment.

That’s part of why the wedges still feel so specific and collectible.
They are giving old-money Italian summer, grandma’s vintage jewelry box, and high-fashion runway all at once.

7 Ways to Style a Scarf on your Shoe

All it takes is a silk scarf and a few easy tying techniques to turn any boot, heel, or sneaker into your own version of that iconic D&G moment.
Let’s go!
1. Silk Scarf around the Ankle

A silk scarf tied around the ankle strap of your favorite heels is the easiest place to start.
Choose a small printed scarf, something with florals, polka dots, or rich baroque-inspired patterns, and tie it into a loose knot or pretty bow.

The look is perfect for making even a simple pair of heels, or loafers feel completely new.

2. Boots & Scarf Combo
Give your boots a fashion-girl upgrade by wrapping a silk scarf around the shaft or ankle of the boot and tying it into a relaxed knot.
A printed scarf is your best choice so it feels straight out of an old-school Dolce & Gabbana campaign.
Bonus points if you add a brooch!
3. Silk Scarf Around the Heel Strap
Instead of simply tying it around your ankle, weave or twist the scarf along the strap before finishing it with a statement knot or bow.
It instantly makes your heels feel more playful and fashion-forward, especially when you pair a colorful or vintage-inspired print with a simple shoe.
