“The star of the show is my Issey Miyake Madame T stole,” Mandi says, and star is not an overstatement.
The Madame T is a large, pleated stole from the Pleats Please line that can be worn as a shawl, a jacket by slipping the arms through, or even tied and styled as a dress.
Mandi wore it off one shoulder with the longer side sweeping the ground of Paris behind her.
“It needs to touch the ground,” she says, dismissing the suggestion of the shorter version.
“I feel like the short one wouldn’t have given the same drama.“
It was gifted to her by a friend in Japan, because she could not find it anywhere in Europe.
“My friend who lives in Japan found it for me and gave it to me as a wedding gift.”

2. The Shoes · Jimmy Choo
Chartreuse Jimmy Choo Bings (Found on Vinted for 300 Euros)
“The first thing that I bought were these Jimmy Choo Bings on Vinted,” Mandi explains. “Stickers on box, dust bag, everything, for 300 euros.”
She knew from the beginning that she wanted green shoes to match her bouquet, and when she found these in that specific chartreuse (the kind of colour that lives between yellow and green and belongs to neither) she was done looking.
“When I saw these and saw that they were like chartreuse, kind of green, kind of yellow, I fell in love.”
She had considered red velvet at one point , an option that would have worked beautifully for a December wedding, but ultimately knew it was not right for a May ceremony.
The chartreuse was always the answer.

3. The Base · Kookaï
The Kookaï Mini Skirt, the Seamless White Foundation
Underneath the stole, Mandi wore a simple mini skirt from Kookaï.
“Really simple. I just wanted it to be seamless under.”
But finding a simple white mini skirt turned out to be harder than expected.
“What’s hard was finding a real white skirt, because there’s so many that are cream, off-white, ivory, and I wanted it to be stark stark white just like the stole.”
The skirt needed to be so white it disappeared into the stole visually, creating the illusion of one continuous look rather than separates.
She found it. She wore it. The illusion worked perfectly.

4. The Foundation · Skims
The Skims Bodysuit; Invisible But Made Everything Work
Because the Issey Miyake stole can slip while styling, Mandi needed something underneath that would look completely seamless when her arm lifted or the stole shifted.
She debated going with a stark white bodysuit to keep the all-white look cohesive, but decided against it.
“I felt like that would look really strange from the side.”
The skin-tone Skims bodysuit was the only piece she bought at full price.
“The girl that loves a deal, in case you didn’t know that.”

5. The Scent · Byredo
Byredo Bal d’Afrique Absolu, Her Wedding Perfume
Every complete bridal look has a scent, and Mandi’s was Byredo Bal d’Afrique Absolu.
She went through Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, and spent weeks testing Byredo Bal d’Afrique against its Absolu version, spraying the original on one wrist and the Absolu on the other and waiting.
The original one, on smell but faded within the hour.
The Absolu lasted an entire day on her skin.
“The original and the Absolu smell so similar but the Absolu is sweeter, and I am not a sweet perfume person, but this one, it just hits.”
She needed something that would work for a spring civil ceremony in May and a full winter wedding in December, and the Absolu bridges both effortlessly.
“Every time I smell it I’ll remember it.”
And that, really, is the only thing a wedding scent needs to do.
